JayVoughn Robertson from Columbus Ohio by way of Dayton Ohio has been in love with fashion for as long as he can remember. However, he originally pursued a career in the medical field, graduating high school as a medical assistant and then going to college for nursing. It wasn’t until a supervisor asked him “Are you working for your circumstances, or are you working for your destiny?” that Jay chose to follow his 1st love, fashion. He debuted his 1st collection on September 28th, 2012 after being self-taught how to sew for less than 3 months. In less than one year, JayVoughn grew notoriety with The Who’s Who of the fashion industry very quickly and was asked to open the 2013 Ohio P.O.S.E.D. Fashion Award Show. Full of nerves and not knowing how he would be received by the city that at the time was ranked number 3 in the US for fashion, JayVoughn opened the award show with a spoken-word piece  he penned entitled “ I AM” which told the world who he was as a designer while showing a 27-piece collection that was received with high acclaim. That night he received the Ohio's Emerging Designer of the Year Award.

After doing numerous shows and gaining popularity, clients, and accolades across the state of Ohio, JayVoughn knew he had more to offer.  He attended Aveda Institute, adding makeup artist and hairstylist to his resume. After a few years of success and climbing the glamour ladder Jayvoughn’s career hit a plateau. He knew something major would need to happen to continue to grow. So he reached out to TS Madison and took a shoot by dressing her. Her team was highly impressed and asked JayVoughn to come to ATL to dress her for another event. While  meeting with her glam squad, he knew ATL is where he needed to be. So he made the biggest leap of faith, walking away from his 9 to 5, family, friends, and everyone and everything he knew to move to Atlanta in less than 30 days.  He was determined to make his dreams a reality.

Jayvoughn hit the ground running in Atlanta, obtaining an internship with one of Atlanta's top designers to the stars, Reco Chapple of House Of Chapple. With that internship, JayVoughn was able to hone his skillset and knowledge in the industry, later landing a full-time position within the company. Since being in Atlanta, JayVoughn has grown as a designer and has had the opportunity to work with clients of all kinds from Doctors, Lawyers, and high school prom clients to celebrities like Angie Stone, Drea Kelly, Tiffany Evans, and more. He has also started working with major networks like Disney and B.E.T. for The Ms. Patt Show, Secret Society 2, and more. This all led to the March 2022 official launch of The House of Jae Amour.  Appropriately named for his love of fashion,  Jae Amour meaning Jay's Love in French.
